The Tap-Out 07.25.06

Rampage takes out Lindland, Bas wins despite his injuries, Ricco is fat, and we try Question of the Week again!
It's been a crazy week for me. Not going into all the details and high and lows… but its going to be a pretty bare bones column today. Which is alright, since news is slow anyway.
WFA: King of the Streets - Results
-Quinton Jackson def. Matt Lindland by split decision
-Bas Rutten def. Ruben "Warpath" Villareal by TKO at 3:44 of Round
-Ryoto "Lyoto" Machida def. Vernon White by unanimous decision
-Jason Miller def. Lodune Sincaid by submission (rear naked choke) at 4:29 of Round 1
-Ivan Salaverry def. Art Santore by TKO (referee stoppage) at 4:18 of Round 2
-Ricco Rodriguez def. Ron Waterman by TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 1
-Rob McCullough def. Harris Sarmiento by unanimous decision
-Jorge Olivera and Marvin Eastman fought to a draw
-Martin Kampmann def. Edwin Aguilar by TKO at 2:43 of Round 1 MMAweekly.com
Most of the people who were the favorites going in won. I can't say much more because I didn't catch it. I have heard both ends of the spectrum though, some thought the event was great, others not so much.
Reports are in that Bas has a few serious injuries (torn groin muscle, dislocated rib, and torn ACL) prior to the fight and will need some time off to recover. Hope he has some fights left in him.
Also, I am going to start listing the official 411 Forum Pick'em winner for each event. We'll start next event. This has nothing to do with the most recent winner.
Question of the Week
In your opinion who won, Rampage or Lindland? Why?
These questions of the week are pretty hit or miss for getting a response. The test with this will be on how many people did watch the WFA.

Check out the NFL section of 411Sports if you haven't. We have had a nice influx of columns there. And even better, Mike didn't totally dog the Packers in his NFC preview.
And don't look now, but we have more than one MMA column at 411! Jon Hartley made his debut last week with his column "The Thursday Throwdown". Look for him later this week. Also, after the last UFC PPV I forgot to mention the review done by MSD. I hope he appear out of nowhere again for a UFC 62 recap. Now we just need to get our roundtables going again.
Next week life should settle down a little. I know this wasn't up to snuff overall, but I decided doing a shorter column was better than none at all.
Oh, head over to the game zone for my news report on Thursdays. Tune in now to see it slowly evolve into something glorious.
