Odds for TUF Finale! Who is going to become the Next Ultimate Fighter?!? What are you going to watch AFFLICTION or UFC!?!
Welcome back to another low fat edition of the MMA Weekly CrapSHOOT!
After another week we had plenty more MMA to keep us happy. The episode of TUF was especially exciting. The next few weeks give us some UFC to look forward to, followed by the debut of AFFLICTION.
Dana's Big Announcement:
Well, Dana's big announcement turned out to be no more than a behind the scenes move. While it was a huge move for the internal workings of the UFC it does not make an immediate impact on the fans. Regardless of the announcement fans would have been upset unless it was really something unbelievable.
I am glad Dana didn't go back on his statements and announce something that he already denied. Hopefully this decision gets the UFC moving stronger and hopefully they can make enough money to sign all of the best fighters in the world.
UFC Fight Night Vs. Affliction:
So we have two great MMA cards on one day to choose from. Which one will you choose? One is free and the other is forty bucks. One has the number one pound for pound fighter in the world while the other has the former number one pound for pound.
The UFC card looks like fun. I am always excited to see Anderson "the Spider" Silva to fight and this will be the first time in a long while. Also the Hermes Franca/ Frankie Edgar fight should be a treat for the fans. I am also to see Anthony Johnson fight again.
Is this card good enough for me to pass up Affliction?
Short answer, No. While I will catch this event on my DVR I will be watching the live AFFLICTION PPV. I am extremely excited to see Fedor fight live for the first time. I really think that Big Tim may actually give him a real fight. I am also pumped to see Rothwell vs. Arlovski. I have also never seen Lindland or Josh Barnett fight live. This really has to be the best MMA card of all time.
Final Episode of the Ultimate Fighter:
Holy shit! Dana did not disappoint with this episode. While everyone guessed it would be Jesse kicked off the show it was pretty sad to see it actually happen. It really sucks for Amir that he will have to fight CB again. He was pretty lucky to get the arm bar the first time and I don't see CB making the same mistake twice. Both of CB's fights though were extremely exciting this week.
Amir's best chance in the finale is to hope that CB gets tired again and that he can stay off the ground. Amir has limitless energy and doesn't look like he can get knocked out. If he and Forrest work on his sprawl he may be able to win this second fight by knockout. I am pretty sure that CB will not be able to finish Amir but will most likely win if the fight goes to a decision.
CRAPSHOOT:
Rules: Each week I will be looking at the odds on all the upcoming fights. I have 500 to spend on each event. I can spend under 500 but never more. Picks may be placed from either Bodog or BetUS odds. A pick can be locked in early for desirable odds. Once a pick is made it cannot be removed unless a fighter is pulled. A running Tally will be scored to keep track of all wins and losses.
Remember that odds are calculated off 100. A positive number indicates that 100 down would yield whatever the positive number is plus the hundred you spent. A negative number indicates the amount you would have to put down to win 100.
(BD = BoDog, BU = BetUS)
And the Losing streak continues! Damn you Yves Edwards!
Odds for Ulitimate Figher Finals 6.21.08

Why is Riddle favored by so much?
Tim Credeur -360 (BD)

Matt Brown +120 (BD)
I love Matt Brown but I think Matt Arroyo is going to take this.
