Nick Diaz vs. Joe Riggs Set For Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg

Can the cage contain these two this time?
It is being reported by Carsons Corner that Nick Diaz and Joe Riggs will face one another on the undercard of Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg. Both fighters were victorious in their last fights at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields on May 6, where Diaz submitted Scott Smith and Riggs defeated Phil Baroni by unanimous decision.
There is bad blood between the two stemming from their previous meeting at UFC 57 where Riggs defeated Diaz by unanimous decision, and the two reportedly got into an altercation in the hospital following the fight.
- Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg will take place Aug. 15 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. Below is the current card:
Diaz by whatever he wants/murder/hospital beatdown/etc.

why they wouldnt make Diaz vs. Riggs for a Welterweight strap is confusing to me.

Oh sweet shit. Diaz will kill Riggs this time. Really, Strikeforce has NOBODY to throw against Diaz.

I thought Riggs broke his hands on the last strikforce card??? But if this does happen I believe Diaz will win but Riggs beat him once so he should have cofidence heading into the bout. Just Diaz seems to be on a mission so I see him pulling off a win here although I think he should be fighting Lawler not Riggs

This card is really shaping up! We already got our tickets and room, going to the weigh ins and cant wait to see what kind of stuff Diaz yells at him during the weigh ins. When we went to Shamrock/Diaz he was yelling at him about a gay tattoo on the small of his back, so damn funny. Im really happy about how the card is coming together.

dustin,
I think eventually we will see Diaz/Lawlwer again, but right now because Riggs won , albeit over Baroni, and Diaz won..its seems like an easier sell to have two guys who are coming off wins to fight. This one will be a WAR!

this is the biggest fight they could find for Diaz? Mr. Inconsistent Joe Riggs? Since Strikeforce and Affliction seem to have a relationship, why haven't we heard talks yet of Diaz v Belfort or Linland? Granted they are much bigger than Diaz but he has plainly stated that he doesn't care about size he just wants the big fights. I must admit that my hatred for Nick Diaz is slowly waning, though I still can't stand his brother.
