The undefeated heavyweight contenders may finally collide…
According to MMAJunkie.com, undefeated heavyweight contenders Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez may face off at UFC 104. As of right now, Shane Carwin has verbally accepted the bout. Carwin made the following comments on his TWITTER account…
"Looks like I'll be fighting Oct. 24 in Los Angeles. Excited to know.
Oops I was not supposed to say anything. Got to get used to people watching me. No bout agreement yet. Looks like Cain and I if all goes."
Carwin and Velasquez are both highly hyped heavyweights. The 6-0 Velasquez just defeated Cheick Kongo at UFC 99, while the 11-0 Shane Carwin recently defeated Gabriel Gonzaga.
Bad fight for Cain... as he'll be basically fighting a much bigger and stronger version of himself.

Very intriguing fight. Gotta go with Carwin due to the size and power advantage. Carwin can finish anyone with one blow and Velazquez hasn't shown that yet. This fight gets signed I will be buying and watching with many many chicken wings.

I can't see Cain take down Carwin. So Carwin wins this fight before the first round ends.

Gotta pick Carwin here. Kongo could have beaten Velasquez except Kongo's wrestling is crappy. Carwin's wrestling is one of the strongest aspects of his game, he won't be bullied by Velasquez, and he definitely has KO power. Carwin, RD1 KO.

One of those rare bad match-ups by Joe Silva - I still think the best course would've been to keep these guys apart, on parallel tracks toward title shots. They're realistically the only two who could give Brock fits (Carwin moreso than Cain), assuming Brock wins (which I am). There's enough other guys (Couture, Big Nog, Mir) that they could legitimately build both guys up for title shots without derailing one of them. Can you honestly see the winner of this fight (which, like everyone else, I'm assuming will be Carwin) getting a title shot without going through one of the three guys mentioned anyway?
