Jim Ross Speaks On Brock Lesnar's Post-Fight Actions

The longtime WWE employee gives his thoughts and says he wasn't surprised...
Former WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and longtime announcer Jim Ross has updated his blog with his thoughts about Brock Lesnar's actions following his win over Frank Mir at UFC 100.
Lesnar's post match, unscripted remarks did not completely surpirse (sic) me. Those that do not personally know Lesnar as do I need to understand that his level of intensity and fury is scary. Brock has said many things in private conversations that I have been a part of that would make one do a double take. He is an intimidating, emotional jock who has been known for speaking first and thinking later. I don't think Brock is an inherently evil person whatsoever but his level of competitiveness can be dangerous. It's like Brock "moonsaulting" at Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle against Kurt Angle when being advised not to prior to the bout. Lesnar was told that men his size don't do top rope Moonsaults which was the wrong thing to say to the former NCAA All American and National Champion. Lesnar came close to tragically ending his athletic career that night while defying logic and doing what others told him that he could not do.
Lesnar, as I pointed out a couple of days ago, loves to be jeered...the louder the better. Brock takes his game to another level when he knows that it's him against the world. ...When Lesnar, who detested the travel and emotional demands of WWE's schedule, was the most "hated villain" on the roster he was at his happiest in sports entertainment.
Plus, let's not forget that some people genuinely enjoy being a badass bully. Lesnar, in a ring, mat, or octagon, embraces that persona. Brock may say that he did not like school but the South Dakota farm boy is far from being a dumb jock. Lesnar has plenty of common sense and knows, as Eric Bischoff wrote, that controversy does in deed create cash.
Yeah keep the wrestler quotes in the wrestling section.

I cannot stand Brock but like so many people out there are desperate to see him get beat. I'm sure this will increase ratings and keep Dana and the UFC with a huge grin on there face cause hes gonna make them so much cash!!
Everyone tunes in to see the bad guy getting beat!

@ yes i am a guest: So true what you wrote. It's okay to be a showman like Tito for example but you got to have at least respect for your opponent when the fight is over. Brock is way too personal.

Quite right guest. Lets all have robotic guys with no emotion, no charisma and no personality in MMA. It's not only wrestling that has heels. Look at McEnroe, Mayweather and other sportsmen and women that people want to see lose. It creates money and interest. For every pious fool like you who decides not to buy PPVs with Brock on them, there will be 50 people who are more likely to buy the PPV in the hope of him getting beat. Then there are those like me who always liked the guy in the first place and have genuine for his athletic ability and his abilty to promote and market a fight.

Guest, You don't think Mir was classless in the build up to the fight?
Getting one of his buddies to put padding on, pretend to be Lesner, and get beaten with one punch?? "This isn't the WWE".
Then constantly going on about Brock being inexperienced, insinuating he knows nothing about MMA - names of holds etc.
The man was coasting along on the fact that he got a lucky win over Brock in the guys second ever fight, and Lesnar shut him the fuck up on Saturday night.
He then cut a heel promo....big deal. UFC guys have been doing that shit in fight build up for years, what's so different here?
Oooo, he gave the audience the finger and said Coors Light instead of Bud Light. And?? The crowd booed and he responded as a heel should.
He will earn UFC HUGE money as people will pay to see him get beat, and those who support him will pay to see him dominate. Win win for UFC. You think Dana White doesn't know this?? Fucking Joe Rogan even said it during the broadcast - "He's playing the heel role".

Of course Ross is going to say this does not surprise him. Brock left his company hanging and we know there is no love between wwe and brock so why is this even a story let alone in the mma section

He did a Shooting Star Press, asshole...

I bet you buy the next PPV he is on
I find it hilarious that you guys hate Brock so much as a person and for his personality and all this. How much do you know about any MMA fighters personality? Practically nothing. I bet most of them are complete assholes because they are tough guys. You think if you ran into Rashad Evans at a bar that he's a cool guy? He's probably a douche too. Brock is an entertainer that knows how to entertain his fans, and piss off his haters to make them want more. Considering you guys hate Lesnar so much you sure talk about him a lot. I tend to ignore or forget things that piss me off, you all seem to enjoy talking about how much you hate Lesnar. Probably just happy that someone might read your opinion.

Really? The same Tito that had t-shirts that said "Oh my God I killed Kenny" and "Guy Metzer is my bitch" That Tito? The guy that has done the DX crotch chop and the "Burying your career" pantomine?
Hate Brock's antics all you want, but don't let it blind you to the fact he is not the first, nor the last, or even the worst.

WWE wrestlers are athletes the sooner you guys understand that the better I am a long time MMA Fan here is a news flash the guy that almost knocked out Fedor was a pro Wrestler in Japan. so wake up Lesner isnt going anywhere and his promo was awsome like it or not you were either cheering his promo or pissed either way he wins.

Dana White needs to throw whatever cash is needed at Fedor so he can destroy Lesnar and put this joker out to pasture.
Posted By: jojo (Guest) on July 13, 2009 at 12:21 PM
You idiots no nothing about business. First off Dana White is lovin this(besides the budlight comments)because people will be buying up PPVs to watch brock get beat. Next Mir is in a contract that i think was a 2nd to last fight. It was signed before his first fight with Brock that is why he is making on 45,000 dollars. And he is not getting a cut of PPV buys. Chuck and Randy were not even getting that when they were in the top of there game. Go learn something idiots!!

Brock just won his fifth or sixth fight whom he revenged his first loss (tko) won the undisputed title he had alot of emotion in which he has never felt or had to handle. Not to mention Frank said he hit like a girl which he probably asked if he still thought that afterwards. Now as far as flicking the fans off when Chuck beat Randy people cheered now if you just worked your tail off became champion after a dominate performance and you got booed your telling me you wouldnt flick the boo'ers off. Brock did nothing wrong in my eyes maybe the coors light thing from the ufc view, and now that he has learned from a mistake he wont make it again and handle himself like a professional next time.
