Report: Fedor-UFC Deal To Be Announced Friday

Fedor vs. Lesnar on the horizon?
According to the LA Times, Fedor Emelianenko and the UFC are finalizing a deal to finally bring the long time top ranked heavyweight to the organization.
A media conference call is scheduled to be held on Friday at 2:00 pm EST, where the report states Dana White will announce the signing of Emelianenko. 411mania.com will be present at the conference call, so be sure to stay tuned as the situation develops.
UFC President Dana White has stated numerous times in the past that if Emelianenko were to sign with the UFC he would receive an immediate heavyweight title shot.
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Fedor/Lesnar....

and what happens if he should lose? he`ll be in the ufc after years of waiting and loses? will ppl FINALLY get over their man crush on him? still think he`s overrated. so he crushed tim silva in seconds but so did a 40 something year old irrelevant BOXER and he did it in less time

Well,at least it's the LA Times. That's who I always go to for my MMA news. Something tells me that the LA Times are just seeing Dana's statement about "crazy" announcements on the 31st, putting two and two together and coming up with Z. Fedor is holding his own press conference tomorrow to talk about the Affliction debacle. One conference to talk about that and then another to talk about UFC? Why wouldn't they just have one press conference?

I don't like fedor, he is over rated, but he will beat brock if he signs with the UFC. Which is such a shame, because I think so many other fighters (including Randy Couture) could beat Fedor.

lol @ anyone who thinks fedor will beat brock. Fedor has never faced anyone like brock...and i don't even think fedor could frank mir or randy couture much less brock lesnar. Brock won't win based of skill but he will win based off size and athletic ability

I think this is for real this time, the wheels had been in motion a while now and IF it should happen this is the right time.I'm not that excited though...an immediate title shot is shitty, let him prove himself and show his skills for the people who has never seen him fight...1-2 tune-up fights. The best thing about all this is that Mir is never gonna have a title shot again...

And yet when Randy Couture does it, it's a miracle and proves that Couture can overcome anything..... people are such hypocrites. Couture became an UFC Legend by beating Sylvia, but it gets passed off as nothing when Fedor did it. Fedor is the best HW in the world, get over it. Is there a chance Brock can beat him? Yes. Will it likely happen? No. The funny thing is that most of the people who are hating on Fedor and think Brock will beat him are probably the same people who for the past year have been hating on Brock, but he already proved them wrong so they have to move onto someone else. Who will be after that when Fedor proves them wrong too?

i tell ya, both of these guys are STILL my two favorite, have been for years and since brock first began. its funny how many ppl jumped on brocks bandwagon after mir though, it was nothing like that before mir got destroyed. but i think brock would win via tko in rd 2, or possibly get caught again. if anyone can get a bar on those giant arms, its fedor.

I'm getting so tired of this rumor, just tell us already!!! Now M-1 is saying no Fedor to UFC without co-promoting.
Personally, if Fedor can't step up and fight the best, we need to quit calling him the best. And him working with the UFC will raise his profile big time and still help out if he leaves to go back to M-1 after beating the top UFC guys. With M-1 so worried about getting their name out there now instead of after, tells me what I've thought for years.... Fedor can't beat the best and they know it. They want their advertising now b/c Fedor won't be able to deliver much after he comes to the UFC and loses a few fights.
