UFC To Air "Best of UFC 100" This Weekend Against Strikeforce
Posted by  on 08.12.2009

The UFC and Spike have announced plans to air a special broadcast of UFC 100 this Saturday, directly opposite the Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg card on Showtime.

Instead of airing the five bouts that appeared on the PPV, the UFC has decided to air three of the evening's main card bouts along with three preliminary fights that didn't make the broadcast. The fights shown will be:

UFC Undisputed Heavyweight Championship Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman
Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien
Shannon Gugerty vs. Matt Grice

The broadcast airs this Saturday at 10 pm ET on Spike.

Wow, Im glad I paid 45 bucks for that a couple weeks ago. Im going to Strikeforce, may have to setup my technological breakthrough beta max to record the ufc fights. On a side note Comcast in California interrupted the main event on PPV with an Amber Alert and are unwilling to discount the PPV price. Steeler Steve says...comcast sucks ass.

Damn Dana, he must really be wanting to counter this if he's showing a replay of 100 this early. Go Strikeforce.

No GSP vs Alves = Epic FAIL!

Brilliant promotional move by the UFC. The only gripe I have is not having the Welterweight Title fight on there. I know it went long and was not that exciting, but GSP is still one of the biggest non-Lesnar draws UFC has, therefore I think the fight should have been put it on there in order to go all out.

But then again, as long as it has Henderson vs. Bisping (still my vote for Knockout of the Year) and the HW Title fight, it should still peel away viewers from Strikeforce.

I don't see this on my cable line up. Right now its a marathon of the top 100 UFC fights, rather than a special broadcast of UFC 100.

Yay I get to see Bones fight!

I'm looking forward to getting to see the Jon Jones fight. Keep an eye out for him in the next year or so

The battle lines have been drawn, the choke is sunk in, now feel the squeeze. Strike-Force will be unconscious soon enough.

Yeah, um already saw this. Why does UFC think replays are good counters against live tv?

Because its mainstream vs Showtime alot of people do not have shitty showtime therefor free exposure is good, anytime you take even just a little bit of ratings aways from a show it helps kill it(see NBC,ABC,Fox lineups as of late).

Oh no...Dana doesn't fear anything from this pi$$ant regional promotion...

Nope...not at all.
