Dana White Not Happy About Quinton Jackson Possibly Having Role In Movie
Posted by Ashish on 08.28.2009
White hates it...
Dana White recently commented on the reports that Quinton Jackson could play B.A. Baracus in the upcoming big screen remake of The A-Team. Apparently the movie could force Jackson out of his UFC 107 main event fight with Rashad Evans.
"I hate it with a [expletive] passion," White said when asked about UFC fighters who take movie roles. "'You're a fighter; you're not a movie star.' It's so [expletive] funny because fighters want to be movie stars, and movie stars want to act like they're fighters. 'Get a [expletive] grip. You're a fighter, and you're a [expletive] movie star. Alright?'"
White said Hollywood ambitions should wait until after fighters retire.
"'Guess what Rashad Evans is thinking about right now,'" White said. "'He's thinking about beating your [expletive] ass. He's not sitting around thinking about how him and his mom used to watch the [expletive] 'Love Boat' together and (how) he wants to get the role of Isaac the bartender. 'Get a [expletive] grip, dude. You're going to make a lot of money. You ain't going to make a lot of money playing B.A. Baracus on 'The A-Team.' Jesus Christ. This [expletive] drives me [expletive] nuts.' So yeah, I'm not a big fan of fighters doing movies. When your career is over, if you turn into a movie star, that's awesome."
Hey Dana...STFU!!! Rampage has been a fighter for over 10 years give him a break...I didnt hear you saying this shit about Chuck, Randy, or Jardine in there movies you closet racist turd!

Simmer down now, Dana. Simmer down now.

Big deal. Dana White is a promoter, yet he turned himself into a reality tv star. White just hates anything that makes his fighters capable of commanding more money from the UFC.

There are thing about Dana White that I really like. Then there's his amazing vocabulary. Also, what the heck is he talking about when his primary color guy is a jock-sniffing actor?
Like acting is so hard that a charismatic guy like Rampage can't play the same role that Mr. T did? It's the A-Team, Dana, not Driving Miss Daisy.

money talks man...if he can make more money being in a movie, he should go for it.
it hurts from my point of view, cause i want to see him as a fighter and fight rashad...but, filming the ultimate fighter (although it's tied into the ufc and mma in general) is really no different.
money talks and at the end of the day, that's what it's about....money.
and quinton would fits the role of BA Baracus, so why not?

How can you not love Dana's rants?

Shut the fuck up already Dana. You're not cool. You're a bald dork from Boston.
Posted By: greenberg (Guest) on August 28, 2009 at 09:26 PM
Too fucking bad Dana, he'd be perfect. He won't make any money being in the movie, or you won't make any money off of his fight?
Posted By: Guest#1883 (Guest) on August 28, 2009 at 09:27 PM
lol at Dana saying he wouldn't make a lot of money starring in a big screen remake of A Team! This isn't some direct to video trash like what most fighters have been in lately, this would be the like next Transformers!

Any hostility towards Rampage could be about Roger Huerta?

I hate Dana White with a [expletive] passion......but this rant made me laugh and I happne to agree with it. So for the first time ever...good on you Dana White.

And people wonder why Fedor didn't want to sign with the UFC when Dana White is crying because Rampage wants to take a dream role.

Dana hit the nail on the head....Rashad would make a convincing Isaac, but have to let the fro grow. Amir to play Gopher...cast it!!

Dana is definitely correct here. We've been wondering why Rampage took TUF over Machida. Well, now we know. His head isn't in fighting and Dana needs his top guys to keep their heads in fighting.
How successful has Couture, Chuck and Jardine been since their movies? Also, this is a main role, a character in practically every scene, with a lot of stuff blowing up on set. You think Rampage will want a stunt double?

You left Tito out, but I agree. Don't know about racist part. Maybe he sees more money in Rampage than he did in the others

Quinton is scheduled to either headline or co-headline the biggest show of the year... after the entire next season of TUF, which Jackson just finished filming promotes it... and now there may be a chance where Rampage simply walks away from fighting for a few months to film a movie.
After spending the last few months filming, currently promoting TUF, and planning to spend the next few months pushing it further all to hype the December show... well, I can completely understand Dana's frustration if Quinton walks away to film now.
The other fighters didn't take big roles in films that interrupted their fighting schedules... in the middle of a huge push.

Isaac The Bartender... Best shit Dana White has ever fucking said.

Last I heard, Rampage wasn't getting the fight anyway. Of course, it's all hearsay, but I've heard several big names rappers in the running as well, such as: The Game, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, and Common. As far as I know, this isn't set in stone. Yea, I could see why Dana would be pissed IF it messed up the Rampage/Evans fight, but if NOT, then who the fuck cares? As long as it's not fucking up his prior commitments, then I see no reason why the man can't pursue other endeavors. Personally, I'd rather see The Game or Ice Cube get the role over Rampage or 50.

For everyone bitching about Dana being okay with other fighters doing TV/Movies: When those guys did it, they weren't possibly putting the main event of a PPV at risk. Big difference.
Posted By: Sethane (Guest) on August 29, 2009 at 07:16 AM
Anything Dana says or does is in the best interest of the UFC and not the fighters. This is another example. He can care less if Rampage is acting or becoming a professional golfer. If it effects a future ppv that's already booked you can bet your ass Dana will be pissed about it.

The guy can rant and rave about fighters DARING to earn money outside his company and trying to sound like a hard man, but you'll still have a woman's name you douche.
Posted By: Frank (Guest) on August 29, 2009 at 01:45 PM
Sooo... what is Joe Rogan then?
Couture did the Scorpion King and I didn't hear a rant about that. I guess he thought that was going to be an Oscar nominee. Rampage is EASILY the most entertaining persona in the UFC and you're talking him down. What a douche!!!

Which of Chuck's starring roles are you all referring to? His 45 second cameo on Cradle 2 Grave? His minor role on Blade the Series? Same with Tito? Rampage would be in a STARRING role, therefore he wouldn't be away from training for a few days, he'd likely be filming for a couple of months which would mess up his training for a big fight.
