Strikeforce: Emelianenko vs. Rogers Set To Be Held At The Sears Center Outside Of Chicago
Posted by Larry Csonka on 09.18.2009

ESPNChicago.com has reported that Strikeforce is seeking to hold the November 7th "Strikeforce: Emelianenko vs. Rogers" event at the Sears Center, just outside of Chicago. MMAJunkie.com is reporting that it is basically a done deal, with the company waiting on formal approval from the Illinois Athletic Commission. The Sears Center is an 11,000-seat multi-purpose arena, which previously held a 2007 IFL card.

November 7th is a loaded day in Chicago, as the 20,000 seat United Center hosts a Chicago Bulls game, the 10,000 seat Chicago Pavilion hosts the American Indian Center of Chicago's 56th Annual Pow Wow and the 18,000 seat Allstate Arena in Rosemont is hosting the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Gegard Mousasi and Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos are expected for the show, which will be headlined Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers. Also, Jason "Mayhem" Miller will fight Jake Shields to crown a new Strikeforce Middleweight champion.

I would go to this so I could be apart of history as CBS kills 2 mma companies and ruins 2 fighters careers.

So they announced the event before formally having an agreement in place with a venue to hold it at? That seems pretty amateur to me...

HAHA sounds like M-1 was given the approval to find a place to fight for them and CBS. GO FEDOR...to hell! I like Rogers and hate Fedor so no matter what I will watch it and collect the free fights from stupid people.
