In an official press release today, SpikeTV announced a new digital series that will be a companion to The Ultimate Fighter series. The Ultimate Fighter: The Aftermath hosted by UFC Fighter and TUF 7 winner, Amir Sadollah, premieres today on Spike.com. The new show is a video roundtable discussion that will talk about the broadcast episode of the TUF series that aired the previous week. On hand will be the fighters that competed in a tournament elimination bout on the show.
According to Jon Slusser, SVP, Spike Digital Entertainment, "‘The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights' promises to be the show's biggest season yet, and Spike.com has enjoyed great success with its ‘Aftermath' franchise. In combining the two, this new show will deliver exclusive content to our audience, and allow Spike viewers and members of our online community to interact with our signature franchise in new ways."
The new show will also allow fans to submit their own questions about the show to the fighters. Dana White will be appearing on the first episode and the show will also eventually feature coaches Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as well as cast members such as Kimbo Slice, Wes Sims, Roy Nelson, and Marcus Jones. Brian J. Diamon, SVP, sports and specials, Spike TV says, "Ten seasons in, and ‘The Ultimate Fighter' still packs as much of a punch as ever. We're excited to build on the show's continued on air success and venture into a new platform with "‘The Ultimate Fighter: The Aftermath.'"
