I'm new to MMA I've only been watching for about five years (two years hardcore). So I admitt that I'm not the most knowlegable. Also I watch mostly UFC so I dont know Fedor but what I've seen I'm really not that impressed.Someone please set me straight is he as great as they say? And if so why go Striksforce and not the UFC?

I will bite...

Fedor is a monster. Before UFC made a triumphant comeback the best MMA fighters were in Japan mostly in the Pride organization. Fedor has never lost. He has 1 NC from early in his career which is globaly considered a fluke as he was in a tournament and he was cut by an illegal blow and not allowed to continue in the tourny, so he is credited with a loss. He was the last Pride champion and has crushed such UFC fixtures as Rodrigo Nogera (3 times) while Nogera was in his prime (he is no where near his prime now and is still pretty good), Andrea Arlovski in about a minute, Tim Sylvia in less then a minute, Mirko Cro Cop, Matt Lindland, Mark Coleman, and Kevin Randelman. It is not that Fedor is amazing at any one thing or is an impressive physical specimen... he is good at everything he has knockout power, amazing submission and crazy throws. He practices Sambo (do a google search) and has only lost a handful of times since 1997! The guy is a beast and is very humble and spiritual. He fights for his family and for his religion is very humble and always acts classy. He never trash talks, basically walks in kicks ass, thanks the crowd and leaves. Do a youtube of his fights.

He didnt go to UFC for a couple reasons
1. He has an ownership stake in M1 Promotions who promote all his fights, UFC refuses to co promote and neither side compromised so no deal.
2. There is only 1 guy for him to fight in UFC and that is Lesner. Mir, Carwin etc. are not in his league until he starts to decline (sorry UFC fanboys its true). When he declines like Nogera he will be in UFC making cash.
3. Rogers and Overeem are really the two best fights outside of Lesner he will take those fights cash his check then go fight for UFC (just my opinion)

Oh yeah he never lost the Pride Championship, UFC bought the federation so when he does debut in UFC, it will probably be billed a unification match.

Rogers is a good fighter with fast and heavy hands if he clocks fedor he can knock him out. If it goes to the ground Rogers will lose in the first round very quickly.

Man, I really fear for Brett Rogers. May GOD be with him on November 7.
After seeing this video, it bought back all the memories of the 30 plus victims of this Russian monster.

I love the test for Fedor (finally). If he passes past Rogers I hope the we the internet commenters will shut up and finally accept that Fedor is the King. Or will we just criticize Rogers for being all hype? Either way, I would crap my pants if either of them headed my way.

I hope, I HOPE we don't get another Josh Barnett fiasco from either Fedor OR Rogers.
