He'll be aiming for the ear...
MMA FanHouse.com is reporting that Alistair Overeem's opponent for Dream.12 on October 25 will be James "The Collosus" Thompson.
The 29-year-old Overeem has made a splash in the heavyweight division since moving up from light heavyweight full time in 2007. Overeem is undefeated in his last five fights, and is the Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, though he has yet to defend the title.
Thompson took part in the most viewed MMA fight in North America on May 31, 2008, losing a third round TKO to Kimbo Slice. The Pride veteran holds a 14-10 professional MMA record, though he has lost his last four fights by some form of knockout.
Here is the updated card for the event, which takes place Oct. 25th at Osaka Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan and will air on HDNet:
* Zelg Galesic vs. Kazushi Sakuraba
* Tokimitsu Ishizawa vs. Katsuyori Shibata
* Champ Marius Zaromskis vs. Myeon Ho Bae (welterweight non-title fight)
* Keisuke Fujiwara vs. Tomoya Miyashita
* Paulo Filho vs. Yoon Dong Sik

That's just bullshit. Overeem hasn't defended his belt in over 2 years. Take that shit away from him.

Wow, Overeem in a juice fight, one is full of steroids (allegedly) and one is full of tomatoes. And for this he is not defending the Strikeforce title. this has gone way over the line of ridiculous. Coker needs to strip him now and make the Fedor/Rogers fight for the title.

Damn it when is Overeem coming back to America. All of his fights have been oversea. His last fight here on soil was for the Strikeforce belt. He hasn't defended that in two years...

Usually I go against the crowd but in this case...Wow what a heavyweight match up...yes no need to note the sarcasm

Why would Overeem fight for Strike Force when he probably gets more money fighting for dream and K-1. Sure he might be juicing, but let's not pretend like all the American fighters have never juiced in any of their training over the years.
It's Cokers responsibility to take the title off of Overeem, not the other way around.
