Anthony Johnson Sticking To Welterweight Division

Despite weight issues, Johnson is not moving up to 185...
Despite a rough weight cut costing him the $60,000 Knockout of the Night bonus at UFC 104, Anthony Johnson is not planning on moving up to 185 pounds anytime soon.
Johnson weighed in at 176 pounds on Friday, well above the 171 pound weigh limit for his welterweight fight with Yoshiyuki Yoshida. The fight went on anyway after Johnson agreed to give up 20% of his purse to Yoshida. But Johnson thinks his weight is fine.
"My weight is fine," said Johnson.
Johnson's agent has also confirmed that Johnson will remain a welterweight, and that the UFC 104 weight issues were the result of a knee injury that slowed the weight-cutting process.
"I had an injury," said Johnson. "It really held me back a bit from doing what I needed to do (to cut weight), and I got out of shape. But that's nobody's fault but my own."
If he wants to do that then he needs to stay at that weight regardless, being at 220 and having to go to 170 would be hard for anyone. But, it's not like he could be Silva anyways... heh

wow! A fighter who fails weight (badly) takes full blame like he should...
Filho, learn a lesson.

All respect for him admitting and accepting that he was at fault. I understand that fighters do cut quite a bit of weight in order to be the "bigger" fighter with a strength advantage, but honestly, he knows that he has no chance at beating Anderson Silva. So what does he do? Fight at weight he struggles to make, and fighter smaller fighters.

He's never going to get a title shot in that shape. Though he'll probably own the division until he meets GSP or Thiago....

I'm not sure I agree with this. Sure Silva would likely win the fight, but don't think Rumble doesn't stand a chance.

Rumble is by nature a striker, despite being as explosive as it gets at his size. I would only ever give wrestlers-by-nature a chance against Silva.
