Frank Mir Wishes To End Brock Lesnar's Career

The former UFC champion speaks how he really feels on Brock Lesnar.
In a new article up on the Fighters Only website, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir reveals that the main goal left in his MMA career to achieve before he retires is "to end Brock Lesnar's career." Mir went on to say, "Really, it's what I think about all the time. Brock Lesnar exploited a huge weakness in my game and no matter who I crush after this, I have to crush him to show I've improved that weakness. It's nothing about how he talked to me in my last fight, I could care less about it. If I took it that personal there are other ways to handle situation like that outside of a cage, but honestly I just want to fix what was exploited."
Mir goes on, "If you're a true martial artist you don't do it for money or titles, just to be the best human being possible, and if someone exploits a weakness, who better to see if you've fixed it than the guy who exploited it. Getting the title back, it's a nice novel idea, but even being the heavyweight champ or the interim champ, I got to be honest, I didn't really feel that different walking around… Some people think that with the belt, that you made it. Nah, you didn't make shit. You won a fight, just the fight happened to have more ribbon and bells and whistles on it. Bottom line, [its about] testing yourself!"
Mir is currently set to face Cheick Kongo at UFC 107. Mir's comments are from a six-page interview that will be published in this month's Fighters Only magazine.
Only a guy that doesn't have the belt can say that the belt doesn't mean shit. And yes, Brock did exploit your face. Shame what he did to it

This was the least jackass-y thing I've heard Mir say in awhile. Good for him, I understand wanting to avenge a loss like that, but I hope he doesn't plan on it happening

man...just last month I saw an interview w/ Mir that made me start to somewhat respect him and then this. While I agree w/ being the best and wanting to correct an exploited weakness, to say he wants to end somebody's career? That's a bit much. I mean, not that he'll be able to do it but still. Bitter much?

I must have seen a different fight because I didn't see Brock exploiting anything.
Brock was simply better in all aspects of the fight... and his wrestling (coupled with his insane size and strength) was easily able to handle and control Mir and his black belt.
Outside of training to become an olympic level wrestler, I don't see what Mir could do differently if they were to meet again.
If anything, Mir exploited Lesnar in their first meeting, and Lesnar learned his lesson to take his time and not rush into anything- making rookie mistakes along the way.

No, just a lot of posters who saw the fight and watched Brock out skill Mir in every avenue of the fight.
...yes, SKILL.
Mir is a legitimate black belt in BJJ, yet after taking him down, Brock was (easily) able to control both of Frank's arms, his head, and body- while keeping one of his own arms free to rain anvils down on Mir's face.
That wasn't something Brock exploited, or based simply because he's a bigger guy... Brock simply out skilled Frank in that fight.
Hell, the size/ strength advantage shouldn't be a factor anyway since before their fight, Mir repeatedly said in interviews how he was the stronger of the two and could easily dead-lift more then Brock.

Mir had better be careful he doesn't get exploited by Kongo his next fight. Kongo's terrible on the ground but one of the top HW strikers out there. The more that fight stays on the feet, the more likely it is Kongo beats Mir.

Actually this is smart of Mir. They are 1-1 and there for a rematch is probably inevitable. Mir might as well try and hype it since it will be a big pay day for him. I think we all know though that Brock had him in the first fight and then what ever weakness Brock had in the first fight the learning curve between fight one and fight two was amazing. Mir's chances in a rematch are slim.

brocks so damn big that once he gets on top of you thats pretty much it hes too big to get off you thats why his only loss to mir was by getting caught and mir for some reason thinks he as good and in some traits he is but overall he will not win brocks a beast and will not win unless by getting caught with a submission or a lucky punch (which is the same for everyone)

i would like to see a rematch. the two brocks frank saw were vastly different in each fight. it would be interesting to see how he would change his approach. Its true brock is a physical specimen, but if frank got a hold of one limb, it sounds like he's just going to take it off...

Seriously, forget ending Brock's career, shouldn't Frank be worrying about his own career? Given his previous KOs by Vera, Freeman, Cruz, and Lesnar, I think Kongo can completely knock Mir out with a knee to the face from a thai clinch. If he loses to Kongo his career is over. After the Kongo loss only things waiting for him are: a) Strikeforce + Beatdown by Fedor and b) Beatdown by Dos Santos or a lesser known fighter.
Dude there goes Mir again. "I am a martial artist who makes no money and gets knocked out by everyone but beat Nog and Lesnar and better than Fedor...bla bla."

i wouldnt make that fight because it would be 2 hits. Brocks fist to Mir's mug, and that melon of Mir's bouncing off the mat. It could be billed as the main event death match lol.... played out in the final minute of airtime to hold everyone glued to the tv !
