Spike TV sent out a press release today officially confirming rumors that they will be broadcasting select preliminary fights from the UFC 106 PPV event. This marks the third PPV event for Spike TV to do this. Confirmed for the Spike TV prelims broadcast portion of the event are Kendall Grove (12-6) vs. Jake Rosholt (6-1) in a middleweight bout and Ben Saunders (7-1-2) vs. Marcus Davis (21-6) in a welterweight fight.
Other preliminary bouts from the card will possibly air depending on the length of the fights. The one hour telecast will run commercial-free at 9PM ET on November 21.
Yes! Saunders v Davis is the one I really wanted to see off of the prelims! Woooo!

I guess this shows that Spike is going to show the prelims for every UFC pay-per-view now... smart move, imo

A smart move for both sides. Live UFC fights draw good ratings for Spike, and it gives the UFC more exposure and more time to hype their PPVs.

I hate kendall Grove too. Jake had a good fight and beat a determined Leben soundly so I see Jake submitting Grove or K.O'n him once he gets near him.
I think this is super smart. I remember when WWE and WCW used to run live teasers into the show. It really does a good job of hardselling the PPV's. Now I know Saturday is free but on the real PPV's it's key.
