Update On Brock Lesnar’s Health

Now reported to be diverticulitis…
Yesterday, Dana White told the Associated Press that Lesnar is recovering from a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. White is still encouraging Lesnar to check into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for further treatment.
WCCO-TV, which is the CBS affiliate in Minneapolis, adds that Brock Lesnar is suffering from diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is a disease which is usually found in the large intestine. It forms large pouches on the outside of the colon, which then becomes inflamed. Treatment for diverticulitis usually involves no solid food, only being fed through an IV and an aggressive antibiotic treatment. Also, in severe cases, surgery can be required to remove the infected area of the colon. Surgery is usually avoided, unless it is a severe case, which Lesnar's appears to be.
Dana White once again said that he does not know if Lesnar would fight again.
Oh this thing really sucks. My Dad suffers from it and he gets repeat bouts every couple of years.
Brock will have to stick to an altered diet going forward, so it will be interesting to see if that does truely stop him from fighting.

Hm, answers.com said that diverticulitis is linked to poor dietary habits (especially highly refined foods) and exacerbated by inactivity. The fecal stagnation sounds just disgusting. Also mostly found in middle aged and older people. Under 40 it is uncommon. Over 60, 50% have it but no symptoms or problems.
I just can't imagine the inactivity part. His personality seems like he needs to let his energy out on something.
And real body or not, its hard to maintain a top level athlete on a really poor diet.
The Mayo clinic seems to say much the same.
Well I'm not saying it isn't diverticultis, but there are some oddities here.
It seems like fiber is in his future, after he recovers. Other than affecting his training if he gets a re-occurance, I'm not seeing where this keeps Brock from competing in the long term.

The FBI needs to be looking at Mir, he made threats to end Lesners career!
On a serious note I hope he gets well as a human and if he can fight again so be it. He just needs to get better for his wife and child

Glass half full: that's better than the Hep-C that I kept seeing.
I had a neighbor who had who did fine as long as he didn't eat nuts or popcorn...so maybe there's hope.

So I guess you haters will stop having to say Brock is hiding from Carwin now huh

Yeah yeah/ get well soon...
Anyway They need to make a match between Carwin & Velasquez for an Interim HW CHampionship... or maybe make Mir Interim Champion again since he DID defend it against Nogueira.

and here is where the WWE fans come in and say "we told you brock was a pussy". Seriously..yeah this sucks, but career ending? fuck no. fight postponing absolutely but when the infection clears up there's nothing to stop him from fighting other than brock being over dramatic as usual.

Yeah, except of course if he has major abdominal surgery..which is what would occur if it's as bad as they say it is.
Get well Brock, you're my anti-hero!!!

Hopefully he doesn't need surgery. It would be kind of hard to fight with a colostomy bag.

He could use the bag as a defense, like when an octopus sprays its ink.
