Please god I would rather poke my eyes out.

I want to see this fight. If it does happen, though, this might be the quickest three fights Randy has had in a row. 102, 105, 109, while still leaving four fights left on his contract.

WAR COUTURE!

Five years ago, what a fight.

Now, it's just two guys seeing out there careers looking for a run at the title. But in order to get a shot, they'll need to beat younger, hungrier, bigger and badder fighters.

They've both just ended losing streaks, they've got similar records, they're both wrestlers, and it's hugely unlikely either will so totally outwrestle the other that they'll "pin" one another, so it could end up being exciting. But inconsequential, sadly.

If Couture beats Coleman, it's another name on a PPV (and god knows they need names), and then he can fight someone like Forrest or Tito before he fights and loses to Thiago or Anderson.

and we will finally get to see that Rogan is wrong and freestyle wrestling is better for MMA than GR. Coleman takes this by an unbelievably boring decision.

Please Mark Coleman, please win.

Not gonna lie, Im big time up for this fight. Be like going back and playing some old Nintendo games from your childhood. AGE IN THE CAGE!!!!

If this fight does happen, Couture REALLY needs to stop Coleman. If he can only pull out a decision victory over Coleman, even if it is his gameplan, I don't see Couture being a viable contender in any division. Unless, of course, it is a REALLY devestating decision. But a stoppage, especially an early one, would really boost Couture.

Though I do think this is an easy fight, I feel it will drag out to the ful three rounds.

You may not be on the edge of your seat all night long, but no so bad with a little optimism.

Four legends, Renzo, Hughes, Couture, and Coleman.

Title Bouts are cool, especially with two known fighters.

Any time someone named Mostapha Al Turk catches a beating is cool with me.

Sure, they're old and Couture's last fight wasn't exciting, but these guys are not only legends in both wrestling and MMA, but they're also in really good shape...not just for the age, but in general.

While Coleman isn't THE BEST, he still beat Severn in his prime and he fought many HOF'ers (Rua, Nog, Frye, CroCop, Fedor, etc).

This is gonna be an interesting fight.

I am surprised Randy would take that fight.

Posted By: Seth (Guest)  on November 17, 2009 at 09:38 PM

Well, I can say I'm more excited for this than I was for Couture/Vera. That's not saying much though.

yeah, don't think I'll be watching this one

Well...the rest of the card actually looks good.

its not as bad as everyone is making out, couture is a legend respect him while he is still fighting before u know it everyone will be talking bout that old guy that use to dominate as in randy so show respect while he is still fighting

And this just in... Coleman pulls out of this fight too. And no one cared.

looks like aside from the main event it's gonna be a very mat based show

who would have thought a few years ago that Couture, Coleman, Renzo and Vitor would not only all be in the UFC in 2009 - but on the same card?

Posted By: Jamie (Guest)  on November 17, 2009 at 10:58 PM

make that 2010 when it will actually occur.

Sidenote: is Coleman/Couture the first time two guys over 40 have fought? It has to be the first time two guys over 45 have.

Also, Renzo will be making his UFC debut at 42 - when was the last time someone that old did that? I can only think of Ron van Clief being older, and that was UFC 4.

Fuck this would have been better for sydney randy is my favorite fighter! Damn it. Only got 2 great guys on the card so far

Posted By: Andy (Guest)  on November 17, 2009 at 11:27 PM

Sad! But they (UFC) need to get couture fight and win a few before he fights someone younger and looses to become totally irrelevant.Dana has too much money riding on him to let this happen just yet.Just look at the vera fight, they couldn't afford to have him beat couture as it would've made it 3 in a row!And couture saying that he's fighting the best he's ever been! Load of BS.And before couture fanboi's start flaming me, let me make it clear I was a big couture fan, until that trainwreck of a fight with brandon vera which he lost IMO!

Coleman actually stands a decent chance of winning. This is not an outstanding matchup for Couture, being that Coleman is just as good (if not better) wrestler than Randy...not to mention Couture would normally have a strength advantage over some 205ers, but I don't think Coleman will be one of those.

Posted By: Guest#1188 (Guest)  on November 18, 2009 at 12:53 AM

They should move this to the Australia show, give us a massive star in couture. Or even have hughes vs gracie in Australia or trigg vs serra in australia. Move one of those three over to give the Aussie show a huge star.

Not a contender fight but one i wanted to see. Didn't think I would.

Posted By: Chris (Guest)  on November 18, 2009 at 01:38 AM

Thanks UFC, been waiting awhile for this one!

Seriously...two MMA legends, both in the twilight of their careers. Both tremendous wrestlers and still got it despite their age. Plus...c'mon, they could practically be twins.

I don't care if the fight is gonna be great...it's still going to be a sight to see.

Nope Maurice Smith and Marco Ruas both at 48 2 two years ago fought in IFL and pulled off a pretty damn good fight.

Great, Coleman was past it 10 years ago & Couture is p4p the most over-rated "legend" in the sports history, if this is the best the UFC can do then maybe the need to cut back on the amount of shows they're running next year

Posted By: Guest#4550 (Guest)  on November 18, 2009 at 09:09 AM

Wow what an awful matchup, especially considering the 15 minute leg hump we all just witnessed against Vera.( Before panties get in a twist.. I am a big Randy fan but he made that fight damn near unwatchable, was booed out of the building and shoulldnt have had his hand raised.)

Now when you consider that Silva has never been a huge PPV draw and none of the other fights have much commercial appeal, this might end up with the lowest buy rate ever. Free on Spike, Free on Spike, Free on Spike!

I hope this card is televised early so the guys in the Main Event can get to the early bird special at MCL.
