Personal Issues Could Halt Potential Carwin vs. Velasquez Interim Title Fight

Find out why inside…
According to MMAJunkie.com, there could be a problem with the rumored interim title fight between Shane Carwin (11-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Cain Velasquez (7-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC). Jason Genet, Carwin's manager, spoke on the issue, which surrounds Lani Carwin, and what has been described as a high-risk pregnancy…
"There's been talk of it, and we're working on it. They're just trying to firm up some dates, but Shane and his wife are expecting a child in February, and we're trying to work around that."
UFC officials were aiming for UFC 110 on February 21st in Australia to hold the title fight, but Carwin's wife is expecting the child on February 11th, which is when Carwin would be readying to leave for the event. Genet stated that he would be disappointed to see the fight go on without Shane Carwin being one of the participants…
"I just don't see how you could do interim heavyweight title and not have Shane be a part of it. He had earned a fight with the champion, so I think he's earned the right at an interim championship."
cenasucks, shut your mouth! Obviously you are a pathetic worm who is alone and will always be alone with that attitude!

what does your wife being pregnant have to do with you doing your job?

Well if she is considered a high risk prenancy then anything can happen. If your job is more important then your family then you have issues.

This guy below me with a "pro" wrestler in his name is a dipshit. Family always come first. If your kid was arriving right at fight time would you rather fight or be with your family? The latter should be the correct answer.

Typical response from a net douche that's never cared about anyone or even touched a woman. One fight is just that, One Fight. A pregnancy with his wife has possibly positive results that'll have lasting effects for the rest of his life.

I'm sorry but unless Shane is an expert who is the only one who can deliver the baby then he should miss the fight. Otherwise get in he fucking cage and do your job.

Yeah if you choose to fight over your wife's high risk pregnancy....Actually I don't even know what to say.
Anyone who does that shouldn't be married.

I'm sorry, I actually have to agree with cenasucks here, okay, birth is an amazing thing, but I'm a football (soccer) fan and I've heard a few football players come out and say that they have to play even if their wife is due. I've heard of fans going to games and even heard a mid-game announcnement "congratulations, you are now a dad".
It's obviously a hugely personal thing, but if the wife is pregnant and says you don't need to be there, you don't need to be there. If she says you do, you do.
I know Vince McMahon in the WWE would never allow his wrestlers time off for a birth. The "moment of birth" might be hugely special to some, but for others the joy of parenthood is so much greater than trying to catch it in a "moment", and that lasts years. Doesn't mean you can't leave the child at all, does it?
I don't think it's such a stupid comment, personally. It really is a question, do you have to be by your wife's side forsaken everything else, or do you have to go chase your dream so you can guarantee that child the best possible start in life by earning a huge check?
It's the rest of you that sound like net nerds, frankly.

Anyone who says Carwin should fight when his wife is expecting is foolish douchebag. There is nothing more important than the birth of a child. If you disagree please kill yourself and reduce the risk of your stupidity being spread to the next generation. Get your priorities straight you fat, heartless, virgins.
