Quinton Jackson Coming Out of Retirement
Posted by Jeremy Lambert on 12.04.2009

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson announced on his website that he would return to the UFC to finish out his contract and fight Rashad Evans.

"Now, I wanted to let my fans know that I'm going to come back to the UFC & finish my contract. Not because the haters are talking shit about me being scared of Rashad or Titties or anybody else. I'm coming back for my fans & to shut Rashad's mouth up & shut Dana's mouth up. Then after that I'm going back to doing movies & I might do a boxing match once a year just to stay in shape."

Jackson previously announced his retirement on September 22nd feeling that UFC had disrespected his loyalty and wanting to focus more on his acting career.

Rashad has the technique and speed...knockout power as well...Quinton has unbelievable knockout power, but can get picked apart by well rounded fighter (remember Forest)
Rashad takes this one.

How many fights does Rampage have left?

First fight has to be Rashad, if he wins give him to the current champ. He'll stick around for the belt once he and Dana get all buddy buddy again.

If he loses to Rashad, which I don't see happening, it'll be Rampage vs Titties, the ultimate showdown. Can Rampage avoid "The Juggs of Doom"?

Good news to start my day! I look forward to this fight.

He's the Allen Iverson of MMA. Or the Martin Lawrence of MMA. Either way, he's crazy and used retirement to garner himself more attention. Oooooh, maybe he's the Brett Favre of MMA.

Didn't took long, did it?
Thankfully Rashad will destroy him and send him right back to his shitty movies.

Yes! Rampage vs. Rashad...

I think UFC will probably have T. Silva vs. Rich 'Gatekeeper' Franklin

1 fight and done?

Hey, thanks for coming Rampage.

Just don't come back at all then if you're going to leave anyway after the 1 fight.

I wonder how many fights are left on his contract? Along with the Evans fight, he needs a rematch against Forrest.

It's a shame we won't get to see him fight the likes of Machida, Thiago Silva, Lil' Nog, Cane, and a rematch against Shogun.

Posted By: Guest#9461 (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 01:59 PM

Dear Rampage,

Please destroy Evan's face with your fist and treat his body like the Ultimate Fighter door you defeated.

Big deal.

Here's hoping he has more then one fight left on his contract.

Perhaps they can actually salvage 108 and have Rampage step in there for a real main event... otherwise, I can care less.

The UFC made a PPV for him (in his home town no less) and he not only walked, but complained about how the UFC never do anything for him on his way out.

Again, here's hoping that he has multiple fights left on his contract, that they can get him into 108 to salvage the coaches quarrel of TUF 10, that he loses to Rashad, and that they can use any remaining fights on his contract to simply sit his ass out.

Perfect timing for those who only watch TUF... they will never know he wasn't planning on fighting Rashad (well, I haven't caught up to the last hour of TUF on my DVR so I am not sure what was said.... but this should work out well). I cannot wait to see this fight. It sucked watching the first hour last night and seeing them ready to fight ont he show.... knowing it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Looks like it will happen sooner than later!

"1 fight and done?

Hey, thanks for coming Rampage.

Guess you missed the part where he said he wanted to finish his contract

damn dana has some kind of power having former fighters go back to him

SHOCKING! Rampages movie is done filming and TUF season is over AND Rampage coming out of retirement? Its almost like it was planned this way....

Posted By: pwsphil (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 03:12 PM

yea thats how this is going to go. IF he wins he gets a title shot and that will keep him around. If he loses he won't want to go out a loser. Either way Rampage is back . Oh he might keep doing movies too but he is back.

Posted By: thejyav (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 03:28 PM

I hope Rampage kills Evans and then decides to stick around.

Rampage doesn't respect those who do good by him but Rashad will make him learn.

Round 1 Rashad is gonna knock his ass out- for makin him wait.

Posted By: g43 (Guest)  on December 04, 2009 at 10:29 PM

Rampage used to be pretty damn sweet until he turned into a big moaning crybaby. I hope Rashad shuts him up a bit. Remember to get a driver to get you to the event "Quentin".

I love how 'Retirement' has become the softer term for QUITTING.

Rampage must think we're all idiots like him. Why come back 'for my fans'? Won't your fans pack theaters to see your movie? Isn't that why they hired your non-acting ass? If they wanted to see Rampage fight and NOT get knocked out he could have just signed on to make a fight movie.

No. I think Rampage is taking a page out of the Hulk Hogan/ Mick Foley handbook and coming back to UFC as further promotion of his movie.

Like he's going to knock Rashad out and bounce from the arena like Forrest Griffin after the Silva fight. No, he'll glorify himself until the next loss, which'll see him spazzing out on the LA freeway in a pathetic attempt to garner sympathy. Sure, like Dana White is going to open the front door to his house so Rampage can come trash it and leave.

What a moron. Go away, Rampage. Until you prove you can knock people out more than just incidently. Until something spews from your mouth that doesn't sound intellectually embarrassing. And if you're going to sully more tv shows or film with your antics, stop watching tapes of Amos and Andy for inspiration.

Rampage is a fucking douchebag. I hope Rashad puts him to sleep for good.

no, he's coming back because he's under contract.

Posted By: Guest#7448 (Guest)  on December 06, 2009 at 12:36 PM

WAAAAHHH! How dare Rampage try to have another career before kissing all of our diehard fan asses before he leaves! WAAAAHHHH! Just like Brock Lesnar leaving worked wrestling to try a new career in an entertainment medium we diehard fans DON'T want him to be in! WAAAAHHH!

Posted By: Guest#5506 (Guest)  on December 06, 2009 at 02:48 PM

I am glad Rampage is coming back because Rashad needs his ego put in check.
