why does mir deserve the same love as Guida?

Posted By: nhanson (Guest)  on December 12, 2009 at 11:56 PM

Glad Mir won...a lot of people hate the man cuz he talks a lot of shit, but love him or not, the man is a great fighter and smart...I like Kongo, I really do but for those that really believed he was gonna beat Mir...come on...really? Kongo on the ground is like a pornstar on her back..fucked.

Um, maybe because Mir is near the top of his division. He finished Nog which the almighty god of MMA, Fedor couldn't do. Guida is just a hack with a gas tank....

After all the abuse Big Nog's chin has took in his career it had to break eventually, Mir was just in the right place at the right time.

Mir did exactly what he said he would do.Now I want to see him break Brocks arm.Why did Florian fight like such a pussy against Penn?He is better than that.

And yet Couture didn't even rock Nog during their fight. Yes Nog did have staph issues with the Mir fight but at the end of the day Mir won in a dominant fashion, something he did today too.

Yeah, the Mir haters will find any excuse. Remind me why Randy couldn't ko him then if his chin is so shot.

Love how it seems everyone in lightweight division's gameplan against BJ seems just push him up against cage and try to get takedown...I guess they forgot how much balance that Penn really has or they think they suddenly turned into GSP. What a shitty gameplan

You people are absurd. Nogueira didn't just have a staph infection. His meniscus (knee) was totally screwed up. He was basically fighting off one leg and thus was a lot easier to get great angles on.

Posted By: WilliamMorgan (Registered)  on December 13, 2009 at 12:56 AM

When at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Frank Mir sees Brock as his ticket to the Heavyweight Belt again - as athletic as Brock is/was, he still lacks considerable experience. His initial strategy paid off against Lesnar, (take advantage of rookie mistakes.) The second time around... it didn't work out so well. Brock was a completely different animal and turned Frank's face into hamburger. So now, should Mir get his shot, he's going to another strategy and try to neutralize Brock's strength. For Hulk!Mir's sake, I hope it works out, because Brock has a long memory and little sympathy for shit-talkers. If it doesn't work out, I expect Brock to leave a crater in his face the next time.

I'm laughing out loud at the Mir nuthuggers, yeah he totally destroyed a man with NO GROUND GAME....Now put him against a HEALTHY BIG NOG or CAIN and let see what happens, he is definitively NOT getting the next title shot....Carwin will and only when Brock is healthy and it could very well be only next summer or even fall
