That is two fights Sherk has pulled out of in a row now...
Posted By: Joe (Guest) on December 17, 2009 at 11:46 PM
They should just cancel the event. Its not like Evans and Silva are enough to sell the PPV. If anything, it should be on Spike.

suck ass card...
Posted By: Guest#5045 (Guest) on December 18, 2009 at 12:39 AM
No shit, this might be the worst PPV UFC has ever put on match wise. Other than relatives of the fighters, who the fuck is going to drop $55 on this? Make it free UFC, this is insulting calling this a PPV.

Nobody knows if this card is going to be good or not, it hasn't happened yet you dumbasses!
People are ignorant, thinking that "name" value is the only thing important on a fight card.
These guys on the card might actually have some amazing fights, maybe even a fight of the year, who knows?
Names do not make fights, look at UFC Tribute To The Troops, hardly any names besides Koscheck and Swick and it was probably the best card all of last year.
UFC 100 had lesnar, mir, hendo, bisping, gsp and alves....and it SUCKED.
Yes, I know, you're probably thinking well if I thought of it in this approach then what's stopping me from getting some King Of The Cage set for 10 bucks instead of UFC for 45!?
That's what I'm telling you, names DO NOT make fights. You can watch an awesome fight anywhere with any two given fighters on any given show.
This show might end up sucking and if it does, then so be it. But quit bitching about it being on PPV or about the card, because for a lot of people who say they don't care about what happens at 108....I bet you'll be looking for illegal streams and spoilers saturday night.
Idiots. Try thinking sometime.

'idiots', you seem to fail to understand the concept of drawing power. I'm sure there were some fights in some indy league this year that were amazing and put some of the UFC FOTY candidates to shame, but...
...Few if any saw it or care about it. If the fighters aren't who people care about or know, they won't have any interest in watching. The card, as it stands, is not going to do much business. If it doesn't have fighters I care about on the card, there's no way in hell I'm taking a gamble and throwing down $50+ on this card.
Oh, and by the way, UFC 100 didn't suck. It wasn't the best show I've ever seen, but to say it sucked is ignorant.

Hey asshole, names do matter. I want to see fighters that I actually care about, not a bunch of no names. I couldnt give a shit about rashad and dont even know who the other guy is.

Somewhere Dan Henderson is smiling, and putting away his voodoo dolls.

@ Idiots - Most people have to like or even hate a fighter to be interested in watching them fight. I haven't even heard of half the guys on the card, the other half I don't care about. Therefore I have no interest in this card, like so many others who also don't care. It doesn't make us idiots.

True- big name fighters don't always make for a great night of fights...and, likewise, lower tier fighters occasionally can (or in the case of the WEC, they almost always do).
The difference though, and what makes it worth paying for or not in many people's eyes, is how a fight can effect rankings or titles.... and with the exception of the main event, nothing on this card will make a huge difference.
This card is why I'm grateful sports bars exist.

I would rather watch this card than Brock,Hughes or Tito laying on their opponenets and pummeling their head.
I mean...not much name value, but the matchups are awesome,we will see some of the most exciting fighters in the UFC.

Idiots ftw!

They need to pull the plug on it NOW, because now that Rampage is back, they can have the blow-off with him and Rashad within the next couple months, rather than having to wait until summer or later. Plug someone else against Silva and throw this on Spike. This card is already a failure in terms of the amount of buys it will get and it hasn't even happened yet. There isn't one draw on the card, and the main event is a sub main event at best. Even if it's Fight of the Year, it's not worth $55 to watch live unless you are a fan of either fighter. Or just scrap it all together and change the numbers for other cards and then plug these fights in on those cards.

Actually, "idiots," UFC 100 far from sucked. Did you not watch it? Probably not. I did. I watched Hendo decapitate and then super-rape The Count. I also watched Lesnar tenderize Mir's face with his fists. Not to mention GSP beating Alves with his groin. You had a good point to start with, but you jammed your foot in your mouth when you said UFC 100 sucked just cuz it had NAMES. Next time, just stick to a valid argument. Beeotch!

Well at least we know one Moron will be buying this glorified King of the Cage event. The fights might be good, but guess what jagoff, Im not risking 55 smackaroos to find out. Odds are, the Main event might be decent, but thats going to be about it. Man, I feel sorry for the people who bought tix to this when it first went on sale.
Posted By: huh (Guest) on December 18, 2009 at 10:18 AM
Listen fellas, how do you think a fighter obtains "name power"? Most have to work their way up from the bottom to get to the top, names like Hazelett, who nobody hardly knew is now a fan favorite.
Nobody knew who Rashad Evans was when he debuted on the Ultimate Fighter, he had to get more fights and exposure before anyone cared about him. Now, he's a top draw. Who knew Forrest Griffin before Griffin/Bonnar? Probably very few of you.
That's what I'm saying, these guys who have been moved UP on the card, might look at this as their "coming out" party and put on a exciting fight because otherwise they might not be on the main card.
UFC 100 *DID* suck, besides Hendo's beautiful knockout of Bisping, nothing else was exciting. Mir got demolished, and GSP smothered pitbull for another decision victory. What's exciting about that? Was there any doubt about who'd win ANY of the 3 main events? Nope.
I'd rather see Lauzon/Stout have a 3 round slugfest than see Chuck Liddell get knocked out in the first round again, "seeing" these fighters just isn't enough for me.

Unfortunately, Dana White is too greedy and narcissistic to EVER pull this from PPV and put it on free TV!
Not only am I not shellin out the coin for this..I'm not sitting my butt in a bar for 5 hours to watch it!!
Posted By: cinderellen (Guest) on December 18, 2009 at 06:46 PM
Dude, you fail to see what people are saying here. Sure it might be a coming out party for some of these guys, but it should be FREE!!! You dont charge the same price for AAA baseball games as you do MLB games under the thought that "Hey, these guys might be really good one day!" 108 had promise, but now its nothing more than a really good "Fight Night".
