Paulo Thiago Will Keep Being A Cop

He's not ready to give up his day job...
Paulo Thiago may have won at UFC 109 against Mike Swick, but he has no plans to leave his full-time job as a special forces police officer in Brazil.
"I'm going to keep going," said Thiago in a post-fight interview. "I love to do both. My squad gives me all the support I need."
UFC President Dana White seems to be happy with Thiago's performance. "This guy just shot onto the scene," he said. "This guy's at the top of the 170-pound division, no doubt about it. He's a force to be reckoned with. Usually, when guys come into the UFC for the first time, they're real nervous, and this guy has got nerves of steel obviously because of what he does for a living. This is a hobby compared [to that]. We're very, very impressed with him."
Thiago has a very humble approach to his success, and is willing to take things as they come. "I'm a part of the UFC," he said. "I'm an employee of the UFC. I don't choose my opponent. I just want to fight who Dana or the UFC tells me to fight. I don't care. I'm just happy to be in the mix. The people need to understand I'm going to improve much more. I want to keep fighting all the top guys, and when the UFC feels I'm ready to fight for the title, I train for that," Thiago said. "I think I improve every fight."
