Chael Sonnen Says Vitor Belfort Is A Tougher Opponent Than Anderson Silva

- Chael Sonnen (24-10-1 MMA, 4-3 UFC) recently spoke about his upcoming title shot, here are the highlights…
On Who He Wants To Face For The Title: "I hope Anderson (Silva) wins (at UFC 112) because I think Vitor (Belfort) is a lot tougher fighter," Sonnen said after UFC 109. "If I had to choose between the two, I'm going to take the low road and take the easier opponent to the championship."
On Fighting Vitor Belfort: "I really do think Vitor Belfort, in truth, has never lost a fight in the stand-up realm," Sonnen said. "The blueprint to beat Vitor is out there, but it's not to stand up with him."
On Being A Fighter: "Look, at the end of the day, if you want to get to the top of the card in the UFC, you've got to fight tough guys," Sonnen said. "If you want to be a fighter and get in the cage and be a big deal at your local strip club, go to Showtime."
This is a very interesting strat. No one has tried trash talking Silva. Maybe it will rattle him into making a mistake. I think they NEED to get Chael on the commentary for the Silva/Belfort fight. That would sell the next middleweight title fight nicely.

Look, he may not be the most deserving opponent out there, and the UFC might not think he has enough name recognition, but Chael might just talk his way into a title shot.

Its a dumb as fuck idea.. Anderson will just embarrass this chump.
until anderson gets beat, he will always be unbeatable in my mind. He's like invincible at the moment, i do think he will be beat but not by Sonnen.

Oh man i laughed my ass of reading Vitor is a tougher fighter then Anderson.
I like both fighters and i am really looking forward to seeing them bang but still,i give Vitor like a 20% chance of pulling this out given his last few years are any indication.

Chael Sonnen on commentary would RULE! Since he's #1 contender he should definitely be in the booth for Silva/Belfort. He might nullify Mike Goldberg

when everybody who was present heard Sonnen say that Vitor is a better fighter than Silva and Silva is going to be the easier road everybody started to laugh.
