Ricardo Almeida Says Renzo Gracie Should Drop To 155 After UFC 112

Find out why…
- Ricardo Almeida, a Renzo Gracie protégé has stated that after Renzo Gracie's UFC 112 fight with Matt Hughes, that Renzo should drop to 155…
On Why He Should Drop: "I think just [his] frame (suits a drop)," said Almeida. "Guys are cutting a lot of weight, and now I'm going down to 170 (pounds), and I think my frame's a little bit bigger than Renzo's. If you look at all the guys Renzo fought, it's guys who are past UFC champions," Almeida said. "Not to take anything away from Royce, but they had different careers. Royce started it all while Renzo was the one running with the flag the whole time."
Would Renzo Be A Title Contender?: "To be honest, [Renzo] did a lot better than guys are doing against B.J. now," Almeida said. "I think that eventually he wants to fight at (155), but he wants to see what Frankie is doing."
*shurgs* Lets see how Renzo does against Hughes first. What The Big Dog makes some sense since Renzo did struggle a bit with Carlos Newton who is a big welter weight although Renzo was owning Frank Shamrock until Shamrock got himself dq'd and he's legit MW/Smal LHW, and caught Pat Miltich in a guillotine choke. However like I said its all in how he does against Hughes then talk about him moving down or competing further.

Bad move, Renzo's said he walks around in the 185 range. He wouldn't have any strength at 155 most of his fights have been against guys in the 170-185 range
