UFC Live Events To Air In Movie Theaters Nationwide Starting With UFC 111
Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.23.2010

According to MMAJunkie.com, the UFC has signed a deal that will see UFC events played in over 300 theaters nationwide. The deal begins with the UFC 111 event, which airs on March 27th. Dana White had the following to say on the new deal…

"This is an opportunity to provide our fans with another cool way to watch UFC programming on the big-screen, live, in high-def and in surround sound. UFC 111 has a stacked undercard, and St-Pierre vs. Hardy and Mir vs. Carwin are both title fights, so this is the perfect event to kick off our new deal with NCM Fathom."

UFC events will air in 300 theaters, those include: AMC Entertainment Inc., Celebration! Cinema, Cinemark USA Inc., Clearview Cinemas, Cobb Theatres, Goodrich Quality Theatres, Hollywood Theaters, Kerasotes Showplace Theatres, Marcus Theatres, National Amusements and Regal Entertainment Group movie theaters, as well as the Carolina Theatre (Asheville, N.C.), Palace Cinema 9 (South Burlington, Vermont) and Penn Cinema (Lititz, Penn.) through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network – North America's largest cinema broadcast network.

You can find a list of participating theaters here.

Is a tix going to be $44.95?

Bruno,

"Tix" is a plural abbreviation for tickets, moron, so "a tix" is not only stupid, it's grammatically incorrect. Had you taken the two seconds to visit the website linked in the article, you'd see that tickets vary by theater but the average cost is $20-$25.

I'm so glad Wyatt is here, making the interwebz safe for everyone.

Can I get your address? Al Gore wants to send you some kind of commendation.

And $25 is steep but it will be quite the experience...

...or for the same $25, I could go to a Buffalo Wings (or most any sports bar), watch it with friends/ other fans, and enjoy a meal and couple pitchers of beer.

Anybody who's down for this, more power to you. Enjoy the show.

Me? Paying for a ticket alone to see this in a movie theater doesn't interest me when I could see the fight and get an appetizer, beer and entree at Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters or (my personal favorite) the Brew Top in Kansas City for the same price.

$10.99 at the Tristate Race Track and Gaming Center in Cross Lanes, WV. Fight admission, unlimited soda and finger food (cheesesticks, wings, etc).

Best deal I've found.

Would go to the movies to see the event if in Amsterdam. Big screen is nice but popcorn, soda, or a movie theater hotdog would not cut it.

Noway I would pay $25.00 to sit in a theater and watch it. We get a group of people together every UFC PPV event and split it, I only pay $5.00 - $6.00 to see it on a 46" inch LCD HD with surround sound...thats good enough for me..
