WEC 47 Attendance Better Than Expected

Reed Harris says another Ohio show is likely...
WEC has announced the attendance figure for last night's WEC 47 event in Columbus, and at the same time stated that a show in the area was likely for next year.
8,345 people attended the show, which is the fifth highest attendance in WEC history. The numbers will not be official until the Ohio Athletic Commission confirms the attendance at some point next week.
"[The UFC] came into this market and definitely laid the ground work for us," said WEC General Manager Reed Harris after the event. "The UFC is obviously the juggernaut, and I think people who came to our show tonight who are familiar with the UFC knew the kind of quality production and the kind quality of event that the UFC had done here and that they could expect the same with the WEC."
WEC 41 stands as the number one show in terms of attendance, with 13,027 people coming to ARCO Arena in Sacramento for the card.
