Get all the details…
According to MMA Junkie, former UFC Fighter Roger Huerta (21-3-1) has officially signed with Bellator Fighting Championships. Huerta will join the season-two eight-man lightweight tournament field, with his first fight being on April 8th at Bellator 13. Huerta joins season-one runner-up Toby Imada (23-13), Chad Hinton (6-0), Janne Tulirinta (12-3), Ferrid Kheder (16-5), Mike Ricci (5-0) and Cary Vanier (7-2) in the tournament. Here is the updated Bellator 13 card, the event will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.:
- Roger Huerta vs. TBA (lightweight tourney first round)*
- Eric Marriott vs. Joe Warren (featherweight tourney first round)
- Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Bao Quach (featherweight tourney first round)
I'm not a huge Huerta fan, but this is Huge for Bellator, and a great signing by them.

Actually, Huerta had a $21k show rate for his UFN19; in his first fight for Bellator he would make about 10k to show and 10k to win (which he probably will). In his next fight he would make 30k, then 50k to win the tourney (which, frankly, I think would happen).
Bellator may pay worse than the UFC but it's MUCH better than he would get elsewhere (outside of DREAM or SRC)
