Zuffa, LLC Sues Bellator Fighting Championships And Agent Ken Pavia

Legal drama…
According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, Zuffa, LLC (the parent company of the UFC) has filed suit in Nevada court against Bellator Fighting Championships and Agent Ken Pavia. Zuffa is suing due to the alleged theft of "trade secrets and confidential Zuffa documents." Zuffa claims that Pavia is the one that passed along these secrets to Bellator officials. The report has copies of emails, allegedly between Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney and Pavia, which outline the wrongdoing. Some excerpts of the emails from Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney include…
"You've been great about sending us 'All' of the seminal docs from the UFC, so that we can re-do them and implement them for Bellator."
"Please list each in terms of what it is for and how the UFC uses them/implements them. ... Then I'm going to have our team Monday re-type them and we will sufficiently alter them such that they will appear to be ours and not theirs."
Zuffa is seeking punitive damages as well as a permanent injunction, which would bar Bellator or Pavia from using Zuffa's assets, including its intellectual property.

Can someone elaborate in detail what exactly Bellator is trying to do?

Confused Guy,
Bellator seems to be wanting to use the UFC's contract structure, so they can build their own bulletproof contracts without getting lawyers of their own to help draft them up. I can't think of anything else Ken Pavia would have access to.

Those seem like highly unlikely things a company CEO would want to bind himself to in an email that could easily be made public, of course, this is the son of Winnebago Man.
