Shogun Rua vs. Rashad Evans On Hold Until Mid-2011

Due to Rua’s surgery…

Dana White was on ESPN's SportsCenter today, and announced that UFC Light heavyweight Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (19-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will not return to action until mid-2011. White also announced that when he returns, he will face top contender Rashad Evans (15-1-1 MMA, 10-1-1 UFC). Rua underwent knee surgery in June, White commented on that, saying the following…

"We did this [surgery] in the United States with the best doctor in the country. He's recovering well, and we're looking for mid-spring, early-summer."

And then it will be postponed again due to the fact that Rashad will hurt his shoulder while training and will require surgery. And then unsurprisingly nobody will care about 205

It should be Evans vs winner of Page-Machida for the interim title. Although i guess that'd be right around mid 2011 since in the UFC they generally fight twice a year max.

No,i realise that they could make the interim fight for around February time and the Shogun fight for around June time,which is when they are talking of bringing Rua back anyway.
