Possible Hearing for Nick Diaz This April

For now, the positive drug charge has him temporarily suspended…
The Nevada State Athletic Commission is expecting to hear Nick Diaz present his case sometime in April, after he tested positive for marijuana metabolites. For now, Diaz is temporarily suspended.
At the NSAC's next meeting on February 22, executive director Keith Kizer will ask the commission to uphold the temporary suspension until the formal hearing in April. "In the past, the norm for a positive test for marijuana is six months, but we have had two repeat offenders and they both got a 12-month suspension. But that doesn't necessarily mean that's what will happen here."
Dana White also issued a brief statement about Diaz. "I am beyond disappointed that he tested positive for marijuana. It is now in the hands of the Nevada State Athletic Commission."

So maybe now the UFC will stop swinging from Nick's berries. Just imagine if Diaz would have defeated Condit (which he did not), and was named the #1 contender. It would have been just a little crappy for the UFC.

You know what? Straight up SCREW Nick Diaz this guy attempts to punk out his opponents into fighting his game but if they don't cries and whines about it and threatens to retire. Thinks he's to good to show up to mandatory press conferences and now second violation. Hey Nick news flash your not the and all be all of ufc and not above the rules! While you were beating no names in Strikeforce UFC was just fine and will be without you! This guy needs to be fired or needs a serious wake up call!!

@ guest guest & yankeeman:
Imagine if Sonnen knew how to defend a submission & actually beat Silva (which, despite the shit he spews he did not) then got popped for abusing TRT, then got caught for fraud. Would've been alot worse situation for the UFC but he can still make them money so they still market him. Not excusing Diaz, f'n stupid not getting in out of his system & as a fan I'm disappointed. I completely agree with Dana's comments but Nick's young & has a crowd-pleasing style so he's marketable. He'll do his time & he'll be back, I doubt they'll fire him.
The UFC knows the his style & the hype he brings to a fight is worth the headaches he causes, probably moreso than Chael who's actual fights tend to be dull unless he's getting tapped.

Dana wants to cut him, but knows there is too much money to be made when he gets back. Diaz is a great fighter, but a whiney little bitch. He should have won that fight, but I don't think the marijuana had anything to do with it. He was just to used to having opponents engage him.
