- According to a recent post on Twitter by Lorenzo Fertitta, UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos will defend his title on May 26th in Las Vegas against #1 contender Alistair Overeem. The May 26th event is currently scheduled to be UFC 146, and will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The Strikeforce Champion will destroy the UFC Champ and UFC's best and Dana White will all of a sudden forget that Overeem was ever in Srikeforce.

This match will finally merge the UFC heavyweight title with the lineal heavyweight title.

going to be a good fight.. I like them both just equally, but i'd give JDS the advantage.. though Reem is a more "technical" striker on paper.. hes slower than JDS and doesnt throw as much fast combos. and relies more on his knees and kicks..

jds hands are lightening fast and powerful as fuck.. and he has shown in his last couple fights that he can kick if he wants to, and his takedowns are shockingly impressive. and when he starts throwing combos, they are sweet to look at

Finally after almost 14 years the linear UFC title will be merged back into the actual UFC HW title in the Ultimate Ultimate HW unification bout! For the first time since 1998 we're gonna have 1 undisputed HW Champion of MMA.

UFC HW Champ vs Srikeforce, Dream, Linear UFC & Linear PRIDE HW Champ, not to mention probably the last ever K-1 Champ. Head says Dos Santos, heart says The 'Reem, either way it's gonna be friggin epic, might have to fly in to Vegas for this one!

This is what Im fucken talkin about, monster HW fights. First AO vs.BLesnar now AO vs.JDS. Its a unification fight of sorts but I cant wait for this. Maybe the winner fighs FWerdum and the loser gets CVelasquez/FMir. This is why UFC is the place to be. Now if UFC only paid their fighters real money instead of that chump change. . .
