He'll be giving Karo a fight…
John Gunderson recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight against Karo Parisyan in the main event of ShoFIGHT 20 and more. Check out the highlights:
On Karo's skills: "He has (beaten some tough fighters), but so have I. I just feel like at this point, I'm ready to go. I'm at the peak of my career and as dangerous as I'm going to get. I'm still learning and I'm getting better and better."
On getting the main event slot: "They put me on the card against another lightweight. Then they called me and asked if I knew of anyone who would be interested in fighting Karo. So I made a bunch of phone calls to everyone I knew who wasn't signed with the UFC and no one really wanted to do it. So I told them no, but then I said, 'Ya know what? I'll take that fight.' And they called me the next day, talked to me about it and we signed it."
On whether he is hoping for a UFC call to come with a win: "I'll go with the flow. It would be hard to say no (to the UFC). I'll just get through this fight and see – you never know."
On how many years he has left: "I don't think this is it. I think I have a few more left. But definitely less than 10."
