DREAM Parent Company Closes Shop: DREAM Officially Done

I think we all knew it was coming…
According to asianmma.com, DREAM's remaining parent company, Real Entertainment Co. Ltd has closed up shop, ending the run of DREAM. DREAM's final event was held this past New Year's Eve at Saitama Super Arena, and the company ran 23 events since it began back in 2008.
DREAM was created out of the ashes of PRIDE, which was purchased by Zuffa in March 2007. Some PRIDE executives formed DREAM about a year after Zuffa's purchase. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, Eddie Alvarez, Shinya Aoki, Joachim Hansen, Hayoto Sakurai and Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante were all featured fighters for the promotion at one time.
While the UFC has plans to return and run Japan multiple times, the former hotbed of MMA will now be missing a major promotion being that was based in the country.
