Miesha Tate Also Joining UFC Roster
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 11.09.2012

On Thursday, news broke that Ronda Rousey officially became the first ever female fighter on the UFC roster. And now it looks like another woman has joined Rousey for their 135 lb. women's division. Former Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion, Miehsa Tate (13-3, MMA), it appears has also joined the UFC women's ranks along with Ronda Rousey according to a recent posting on her Twitter account:

"So Stoked to be fighting for the @UFC it's been a dream of mine for along time! SO happy it's finally come true :-D"

Tate was previously submitted by Rousey in 2011 when she lost her title. Depending how thing's go, she could be the first contender for Rousey's newly crowned UFC belt. Cris "Cyborg" Santos fighting Rousey has been widely talked about, but there is also the issue of Santos making Rousey's weight limit as well as her suspension from her previous failed drug test for steroids. Another potential opponent for Rousey could be Olympic silver medalist, Sara McMann, who fights at 135 lbs. and is also undefeated in MMA.
