UFC on FUEL TV 6 Gets $1.3 Million Live Gate
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.10.2012

MMA Junkie reports that today's "UFC on FUEL TV 6: Franklin vs Le" event had an attendance of 8,415 fans for a live gate over $1.3 million. The event took place at the CotaiArena in the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel. It was the UFC's first event in China. The main card aired on FUEL TV after preliminary fights on Facebook.

UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia Mark Fischer said it was sold out. He added: "It was a great night of fights. We're very pleased for our first event on Chinese soil."

Macau is a "special administrative region" of China.

The main event featured Cung Le get a first round knockout over Rich Franklin. Le earned the $40,000 "Fight of the Night" bonus as a result. In the co-main event, Thiago Silva defeated Stanislav Nedkov by submission with a third-round arm-triangle choke. It was his first win in over three years and earned him the show's Submission of the Night."

This was the second UFC event in Asia in 2012 after UFC 144 in Japan in February. The company already plans to return to Japan in March. This was announced after today's show.
