UFC 154's Rafael dos Anjos Discusses Moving to the US, Becoming a Moe Complete Fighter, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.14.2012

- UFC 154's Rafael dos Anjos recently discussed his move to the US becoming a more complete fighter and more. Here are the highlights…

On Moving to the US: "My objective, since moving to the U.S., is to become a more complete fighter. I'm improving my standup and wrestling, and I continue to evolve. I had only trained in the U.S. twice before, the last time being when I helped Frankie Edgar for his last fight against Gray Maynard. I felt myself evolve more when training in the U.S., and that's why I decided to move."

On His Split Decision Loss to Gleison Tibau: "It was destiny. It was supposed to happen," dos Anjos said. "I took a hard punch some 40 seconds before the end of the second round. It wasn't a knockdown, but I felt it. I think that's what gave him the edge in the eyes of the judges. Other than that, I felt I was more aggressive throughout the fight."

On His Camp: "Everything is perfect," dos Anjos said. "I did my camp without any injuries and I haven't had problems cutting weight. Mark Bocek is a tough opponent. He's a good wrestler, good on the ground. I'm training everywhere, trying to improve all facets. I'm highly confident."

On Fighting Mark Bocek: "I think a victory over him, without a doubt, bumps me up to a better position in the (division)," he said. "I expect I could be one of the top lightweights after this victory. I'd like to close out the year with three victories. It will be great for me. My focus now is only Bocek, but I expect it will be great to start the year after three victories. I take one step at a time."
