A bad year for him...
MMA Junkie reports that Dennis Hallman's home in Olympia, Washington was burned to the ground last week after a house fire. It happened on November 21, just before Thanksgiving.
This was less than two months after Hallman was released from the UFC after not making weight at UFC on FX 5. It's unknown what caused the fire, but it destroyed the entire home and all of the family's possessions. They now have nothing but what they had with them while they were gone. Nobody was home at the time, so no one was injured.
Hallman's manager, Audie Attar, said: "Dennis has gone through hell and back within a span of a few weeks. This is a time of need for Dennis, and although he's a professional fighter, MMA athletes do not make what the stick and ball pros make in their professional careers. With mounting legal costs fighting for his kids and now this fire, Dennis could use a little help from his friends and from MMA fans all over the world. We all go through trying times in our lives. Help from our friends helps us through those times."
Attar says that Benji Radach has set up a fundraising site at Fundrazr.com to help the Hallman family. So far over $10,000 has come in from over 100 people. The family is also accepting donations of clothes for Hallman and his children in the following sizes:
