Shogun Rua Says He's Not Worried About a Potential Title Shot After UFC on FOX 5
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 12.07.2012

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua recently spoke about his fight with Alexander Gustafsson this weekend at UFC on FOX 5. Check out the highlights:

On changing up his sparring partners for the fight: "I tried to find guys that were Gustafsson's size and shape, and that's it. We are ready for Saturday."

On a potential title shot going to the winner: "It doesn't matter. It's the decision of the UFC or (UFC President) Dana White. I try to do my best, and the decision about the future is in the UFC's hands, especially Dana White's hands."

On whether he misses the soccer kicks from the PRIDE days: "I hope one day the UFC allows stomps. The sport's changed a lot, the rules. It's uncertainty every day. You try to make things better and improve, so everything in our lives changes."

On being ready for the fight: "I trained for this fight a long time. Gustafsson is a good boxer; he's good at moving in the octagon. I trained for people with a very similar style."
