Patrick Cote Drops to Welterweight
Posted by Larry Csonka on 12.19.2012

According to mmajunkie.com, Patrick Cote (18-8 MMA, 5-8 UFC) has announced that he is dropping down to welterweight for his next fight. Cote was expected to rematch Alessio Sakara at UFC 158 in March in Montreal, but the fight was off as Sakara had to pull out due to kidney issues. The UFC was seeking a replacement for Sakara to keep Cote on the card at UFC 158, and now that opponent will come from the welterweight division.
