He'll get to relax...
MMA Junkie reports that Dan Henderson (29-8 MMA, 6-2 UFC) said he's "perfectly fine" with the main event of UFC 157 being Ronda Rousey (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs Liz Carmouche (7-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Henderson will meet Lyoto Machida (18-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) in the co-headlining fight.
The fight takes place on February 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The main card will air on PPV.
His tweet comes after several complaints, including from his own striking coach Gustavo Pugliese. Pugliese said that the veterans should have taken top billing over the women.
Henderson said: "I am perfectly fine as the co-main (event). I will get to relax and enjoy the women go at it."
A knee injury forced him out of his match with Jon Jones at UFC 151 and he was blamed by the promotion for the cancellation of the event. Vitor Belfort got the next shot and lost. Jones then took a coaching spot on The Ultimate Fighter 17 against Chael Sonnen, who failed to get the middleweight title this summer. Sonnen will face Jones in a PPV fight after the show is over. Henderson will fight Machida and the fight is only being called a "likely" title eliminator, not confirming that Henderson will finally get his title shot if he wins.
Henderson will be looking to get his fifth straight win and his eighth in nine fights. He had a title reign in Strikeforce before returning to the UFC, where he defeated Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in a "Fight of the Year" at UFC 139 a year ago. This was his most recent fight.
