Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.22.2012

MMA Junkie reports that Jorge Masvidal (23-7 MMA, 5-1 SF) has suffered a back injury which has forced him out of a fight with Pat Healy (28-16 MMA, 6-1 SF) at "Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine."

Strikeforce has not made a formal announcement but a replacement will likely be made. The event is Strikeforce's final show and takes place on January 12 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Masvidal vs Healy was set to be on the preliminary card on Showtime Extreme before the main card on Showtime. Healy was initially set to fight lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, who was also forced off the card with an injury.
