Is he ok with it after the Aldo incident?
- Dana White recently spoke about his fighters riding motorcycles. Here are the highlights…
On UFC Fighters Riding Motorcycles: "Let me tell you what, when you own a motorcycle, here's the difference: You take a guy like Cain Velasquez or Junior Dos Santos, right? They've got plenty of transportation. Junior Dos Santos has got a pimped-out Range Rover and God knows what else he has. Cain Velasquez has a bunch of cars. You don't want [a motorcycle] to be your main means of transportation."
On Jose Aldo's Injury Due to Riding a Motorcycle: "Brazil is the one place on earth that you don't want to ride a f---ing motorcycle," White said. "I've been there. I've seen it. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life. You've got people zipping in and out of these things, bumper-to-bumper traffic, missing trucks [by inches]. Let me tell you what: Jose Aldo has plenty of money. He can buy a car or a bus or an SUV."
On Using Contracts to Enforce a No Riding Policy: "Yes, I could put in the contracts, 'You're not driving a f---ing motorcycle,' But I'm not with him. … It's probably a good idea not to ride motorcycles, yes. Are they going to listen to me? Are they really not going to do it? Maybe Jose will now, now that he's been affected by it. And it could have been a lot worse. He could have broken a leg. If I say, 'No [expletive] motorcycles,' and a fighter rides a motorcycle anyway and hurts himself, what am I going to do? We can't hurt him worse than he already hurt himself. Now he's not going to make any money for a year-and-a-half. He's not going to fight. He just lost a year-and-a-half of his career. He's going to hurt himself more than I could ever hurt him."
On UFC Fighters Wining Harley-Davidson Motorcycles: "You can't have a fighter and his main means of transportation is a motorcycle," White said. "That's crazy. But, if one of these guys wins the Harley-Davidson, Harley-Davidson is a bike you take out on the weekend, you cruise around – completely different."
