Dana White thinks MMA will be legalized in New York by then...
Dana White spoke last night following the post-UFC 155 press conference about the promotion's plans to have the UFC's 20th Anniversary event in Madison Square Garden in November of 2013, despite the fact that MMA is not yet legalized in the state. Check out the highlights:
On the company having reserved Madison Square Garden already: "I plan on being in New York in 2013 for the UFC's 20th anniversary. That's my goal, so we'll see."
On why he feels confident that MMA will be legalized by that point: "We're just working hard on it like we always were."
On the Culinary Workers Union opposing the UFC because Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta own the largest non-union hotel group in Las Vegas: "It's all dirty union s---. Dirty, rotten, scummy union. The Culinary Union of Las Vegas. UNITE. Scumbags. That's what's stopping it."
On his belief that the legalization will happen: "I wouldn't say it if I didn't think it was (realistic). That's our goal is to get in there in November for the 20th anniversary at Madison Square Garden...We've got a card planned. We've got some stuff planned. We've just got to get past these scumbag gangster union guys and see what happens."
