Now that he's a champion...
During a post-fight press conference at UFC 155 (which you can find below, thanks to MMA Fighting), Five Ounces of Pain reports that UFC President Dana White said he would be willing to let welterweight Nate Marquardt back into the UFC. Marquadt was fired from the promotion almost two years ago after issues with testosterone use cut him out of a headlining fight at the last minute. White said that Marquardt had no business in the UFC and wouldn't be invited back.
Now Marquardt is a champion in Strikeforce and White seems to have changed his mind. He said: "I would have to say so. I was never in a bad way with him. I like Nate Marquardt, he's one of the nicest guys ever. You know how I get; I get bummed out when guys do stuff like that. You're a professional, show up here and do what you're supposed to do."
Marquardt only fought once since being fired from UFC, when he knocked out Tyron Woodley in July to become the Strikeforce champion. He has a record of 32-10-2 with 24 stoppages. His past wins include victories over names like Dan Miller, Martin Kampmann, Rousimar Palhares, and Demian Maia.
