Lauzon would've rather had Submission of the Night than Fight of the Night...
MMAjunkie spoke with UFC lightweight fighter Joe Lauzon about his loss to Jim Miller at UFC 155:
Regarding how he didn't want to be seen after his fight: "At first, I didn't want to see anybody. Now, I don't even care. A lot of people are just walking by, and they'll glance in my direction and they'll lock on my face. And the other people are doing their best just to try and keep a straight face."
His thoughts on the fight: "I'm glad people enjoyed the fight, but I'm not looking to go out there and look like a zombie after every fight. I want to have exciting fights, but I don't want to be the guy that's exciting because he gets beat up so much. I want to demonstrate my skills and submit people and beat other people up."
Regarding his documentation of his face and injuries after the fight on the UG forums: "I figured it would be a cool time-lapse. I knew it would get worse before it got better. I thought it would be fun to look back at all the different stages of recovery."
How he feels how he came out of his fight compared to his previous fight with Jamie Varner: "I don't feel I've taken any real abuse or punishment. But the thing is I don't want to. I don't want to have wars if that means I'm going to forget my own name. If it got to that point, I would reassess everything and take a step back. I went to school for computer science. I can still remember all the classes and everything I learned."
How rather would've had Submission of the Night: "I wish it could have been a 'Submission of the Night.' I've got to hope that this next fight isn't super exciting and I get one over."
