Eddie Alvarez's UFC Offer Reportedly Includes Immediate Title Shot, PPV Cut
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 01.09.2013

According to a copy of the lawsuit filed by Bellator against Eddie Alvarez, a UFC contract offer to former Bellator lightweight champion and MMA free agent, Eddie Alvarez, Alvarez's offer included an intended immediate UFC title shot and a cut of PPV profits.

Reportedly, the UFC offer is an eight-fight deal for Alvarez which would start at $70,000 to show and $70,000 to win and would raise with $5,000 increments with each win and tops out at a guaranteed $210,000 for a win. Alvarez was also guaranteed a $250,000 signing bonus, which would be paid in two installments of $85,000 and one of $80,000.

Regarding a cut of UFC PPV profits, if Alvarez fights on a UFC PPV broadcast, his contract offer would entitle him to $1 for each "buy" between 200,000 and 400,00 buys. He would get $2 per buy between 400,00 and 600,00 buys, and $2.50 per buy over 600,000 buys. Also, Alvarez also would get a guaranteed fight on a UFC on Fox card and three appearances as a commentator for UFC events.

According to the lawsuit, it claims Bellator and CEO Bjorn Rebney are claiming they merely changed mentions of UFC and ZUFFA in the contract to Bellator. Bellator in their offer to Alvarez also were willing to offer him a $25,000 payout for participation in a behind-the-scenes show for Bellator, a $100,00 payout to be head coach on the second season for a Bellator reality series, and also a guest spot to host a Road to the Championship special on Spike TV. Alvarez would also receive a $250,000 signing bonus if he re-signs with Bellator.
