Rashad Evans Says He's Unsure About Cutting to Middleweight to Face Anderson Silva
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 01.21.2013

Rashad Evans recently spoke with MMAjunkie about the possibility of cutting down to middleweight for a fight against Anderson Silva. Check out the highlights:

On a potential cut to middleweight to fight Anderson Silva: "I am good at 205 (pounds), but who's to say I'll be the same fighter at 185, when I cut that weight and how that weight cut makes me feel. There's a lot of variables that come into play."

On Silva: "He's one of my favorite fighters to watch. When my career is all said and done, I want to be able to look back and say I competed against some of the best guys ever in history. For me to get a chance to compete against Silva would be an amazing experience. I believe I can beat Anderson Silva. The build that I have is something that he would have a hard time dealing with. But first and foremost, it would be an honor itself."

On what he would do to cut down: "Eating normally, having a day or two off, I can be 227 (pounds), almost 230, without even trying. So I would really have to get a dietician."
