Rivera has to prove himself again...
MMAjunkie Radio interviewed UFC bantamweight fighter Francisco Rivera. Rivera is set to face Edwin Figueroa on the Facebook prelims for UFC 156 today. Here are some highlights:
Rivera on wanting to get things done quickly: "Most fighters don't like to be in there that long. You want to get in there and get out. I want to be sitting in my chair with a cold drink and enjoy the fights."
Rivera on his placement on the card: "It sucks that I don't get to be on FX or the main card, but I have to prove myself once again. It is what it is. I'm not going to worry about that now. I'm just going to go in there and do what I do best and put on a great fight."
Rivera's thoughts on Figueroa: "His last three fights, he stands there, and he'll bang, so it's just exactly what I want I'm hoping his gameplan doesn't change. I hope he stands there, and we just put on a great fight. That's all I want. KO finish...My last four fights, three of them were knockouts in the first round. "It speaks for itself. I'm sure the UFC knows. All my fans know what kind of fighter I am, so they will be watching and supporting me for this fight on Saturday. Hopefully it's a quick fight and they throw me on the pay-per-view."
