Dana White Says Frankie Edgar Won't Return to Lightweight
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.03.2013

Dana White spoke at the post-UFC 156 press conference about Frankie Edgar's loss to Jose Aldo, Edgar's future and more. Check out the highlights:

On whether Edgar will return to lightweight: "He's not going to [lightweight]. That's not going to happen."

On why he doesn't want Edgar to return to the division: "I like Frankie Edgar a lot as a person. Take away the whole fighting thing – I like him as a person, as a human being, and I don't ever want to see him at 155 pounds. The guys are too big and too strong at 155. Yes, I know he was the champion. I know he beat legends and had close fights and everything else, but you can only fight so long in those types of wars with bigger, stronger guys. It's not good."

On a possible move down to 135: "I like that better. The lower he goes, the happier I am. I don't want him going any higher."
