Alexis Davis and Sara McMann Officially Join UFC Roster
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 02.12.2013

The UFC confirmed today during a UFC 157 media conference call that MMA fighters Alexis Davis (13-5, MMA) and Sara McMann (6-0, MMA) have officially signed with the UFC and will be a part of their 135 lb. women's division roster. Davis was a 2-1 veteran under the Strikeforce banner and has won her last two fights for Invicta FC over Hitomi Akano and Shayna Baszler. McMann is an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling and is undefeated in her MMA career. Davis and McMann join already announced female UFC fighters in champion Ronda Rousey, top contender Liz Carmouche, and Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano, the latter two of which are set to fight in the next women's UFC bout in April.

Former Strikeforce 145 lb. women's champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos had previously been confirmed by UFC President Dana White as signing with the UFC. However, Cyborg and her manager Tito Ortiz have stated that they have requested Cyborg be released from her contract with UFC parent company, ZUFFA.
